INSTINCT Mag features reality TV star J.P. CALDERON on its March 2008 cover, a year after he first came out in the publication.

This time last year, reality TV star and model J.P. Calderon publicly came out as a gay man on the cover and in the pages of Instinct magazine’s February issue. Now the Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency cast member is back to talk about how his life is different one year later.

“I’m changed,” Calderon tells Instinct Editor In Chief, Mike Wood. “My perception has changed. I didn’t give people credit — those closest to me and beyond. But I’m still the same guy. At least, I like to think I am.”

Calderon also discusses suddenly becoming a well-known representative of the gay community. “I’m a role model, I guess,” he notes. But I don’t want to be a perfect role model. I love to go out and have a good time. Sometimes I do crazy or wild things. And sometimes I do the wrong things and make bad decisions. But we all do, and I think we have to be okay with that.”

Mike Wood, who did the original interview with Calderon last year, adds, “We are so thrilled that J.P. agreed to appear on our cover again. Last year, his story generated an outpouring of letters and e-mails from around the world and from all walks of life. They were so touched by his story, that we knew his fans would want to know what he’s up to today.”
